About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified and experienced humanistic integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, with 25+ years experience. I am a registered member of the Â鶹Դ´ and I adhere to their Ethical Framework. I am also an Ordinary Member of the British Association of Psychodrama and a Certified Brainspotting Practitioner. I belong to the Climate Psychology Alliance and am climate- and collapse-aware.
In order to work well, it's important to have a solid and trusting working relationship with everyone I work alongside. This means I work in a confidential, supportive and non-judgmental way. I know how profoundly important it is to be met with affirmation, curiosity and acceptance and not be reprimanded, judged or discriminated against because of who we are or how we are in the world.
My aim is that our sessions together will suit your unique needs and preferences, so that you can find your own answers to the situations you find yourself in.
Practice description
The way I work is not issue-specific, however it may be helpful for you to know that I have experience of working alongside people who are dealing with a range of things, including, but not limited to, anxiety, relationship issues, depression, neurodiversity-related matters, family issues, career and life choices, affairs and betrayals, separation and divorce, abuse, anger management, bereavement, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, sex and sexuality, LGBTQIA+-related issues and stress. All of this is done in the strictest of confidence.
It may also be helpful for you to know that as a gay man and someone diagnosed later-in-life as autistic, I bring lived experience, as well as clinical training and expertise to my work. I work well with both neurotypical and neurodivergent people in a non-pathologising way.
While my initial training was person-centred in orientation, over the years I have incorporated psychodynamic, existential and body-based perspectives into the way I work. My view of humans as creative and interconnected wholes of body, mind, feeling and spirit, along with a strong relational orientation provides an overarching frame to my integrative practice.
In my 25+ years of working with individuals, couples and families, I have learnt and continue to apply a variety of approaches as appropriate to each person and their situation in life. Because one size does not fit all, what happens in therapy is different for each person. It may include some psychodramatic work, cognitive/behavioural work, Brainspotting or EMDR. I am trauma-informed and climate- and collapse-aware and my style is invitational.
My first session
At your first session with me, we will go over some of the questions you're asking yourself, some of the things you would like to be better in your life and what your hopes are for yourself, your relationships and your life in general. Over this first session, you will also have a chance to work out if I am the best person to work through things with you.

Because one size does not fit all, what happens in therapy is different for each person. The work we do together may include some traditional "talk therapy", som psychodramatic work, cognitive/behavioural work, Brainspotting or EMDR. My style is invitational and when appropriate, I will offer gentle challenges or reframes and we will only work at a pace that suits you. I am trauma-informed and climate/CEE aware.

Practice description
Supervision is a supportive relationship where we can explore and reflect on your practice together. Because we cannot know all of ourselves, it is essential to continually uncover our blind spots in a way which facilitates our learning as clinicians. Supervision is where we can be held by an experienced practitioner as we face into the challenges of the therapy work that we do.
As a gay man, diagnosed later-in-life as autistic, I am able to offer supervision for practitioners working with these client groups, bringing both clinical training & 25+years expertise, as well as lived experience. I work with both neurotypical and neurodivergent people in an affirming and non-pathologising way.
My supervision practice is underpinned by the values of creativity and appropriate spontaneity. I am relational in approach and integrate psychodynamic, existential, trauma-informed and body-based perspectives into the way I work.
I have a Diploma in Creative Approaches to Supervision from the London Centre for Psychodrama. LCP is a UKCP-approved training provider.
My first session
At your first supervision session, we will spend some time taking an overview of your work, getting a big picture of what is important to you as a practitioner and contracting for our work together.
