About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified and experienced humanistic integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, with 25+ years experience. I am a registered member of the Â鶹Դ´ and I adhere to their Ethical Framework. I am also an Ordinary Member of the British Association of Psychodrama and a Certified Brainspotting Practitioner. I am a member of the Climate Psychology Alliance and am climate- and collapse-aware.
In order to work well, it's important to have a solid and trusting working relationship with everyone I work alongside. This means I work in a confidential, supportive and non-judgmental way. In order for you to feel comfortable working with a counsellor or psychotherapist, I know how profoundly important it is to be met with curiosity, affirmation and acceptance and to know you will not be judged, reprimanded or discriminated against because of who you are or how you are in the world.
My aim is that our sessions together will suit your unique needs and preferences, so that you can find your own answers to the situations you find yourself in.
If you are neurodivergent, it may be helpful for you to know that I am a later-in-life diagnosed autistic man and work very well with both neurotypical and neurodivergent people in a non-pathologising and affirming way.
As an additional note, you may find it useful to know that I do not use AI in any way for any aspect of the work I do, either in the room with you or outside of the consulting room. At the heart of psychotherapy and counselling are real human relationships. All my thinking, reflecting and intuiting is done with my very own neurons and all my note-taking and writing is done with a pen and paper, old school.
Practice description
I tend to view the primary focus of my work as the person in front of me. I look at it like this: when we meet, I am meeting a person, not a problem or an issue. While my work is not issue-specific, I have wide experience of working alongside people who are navigating a range of issues. These have included, but are not limited to, anxiety, relationship matters, depression, family matters, career and life choices, affairs and betrayals, separation and divorce, neurodiversity-related matters, abuse, anger management, bereavement, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, sex and sexuality, LGBTQIA+-related issues and stress.
Having said that, I do have some areas in which I have particular experience and expertise, including:
* depression & anxiety
* trauma, including relational trauma & abuse
* grief & loss
* working with people who are autistic or exploring whether they are autistic
All of this is done in the strictest of confidence.
I incorporate psychodynamic, existential, person-centred and body-based perspectives into the way I work. My view of humans as creative and interconnected wholes of body, mind, feeling and spirit, along with a strong relational orientation, provides an overarching frame to my integrative practice.
Over the years, I have learnt and continue to apply a variety of approaches as appropriate to each person and their situation in life. Because one size does not fit all, what happens in therapy is different for each person. You will bring concerns that are particular to you and your unique way of being into the consulting room. The work we do together may include some traditional "talk therapy", some psychodramatic work, cognitive/behavioural work, Brainspotting or EMDR. My style is invitational and when appropriate, I will offer gentle challenges or reframes and we will only work at a pace that suits you.
My first session
At your first session with me, we will go over some of the questions you're asking yourself, some of the things you would like to be better in your life and what your hopes are for yourself, your relationships and your life in general. Over this first session, you will also have a chance to work out if I am the best person to work through things with you.

Because one size does not fit all, what happens in therapy is different for each person. I have come to realise that I do not work with "issues"; rather I work with people; people who may bring a variety of issues into the consulting room. What happens in the room may include some psychodramatic work, relational work, cognitive/behavioural work, Brainspotting or EMDR. I am trauma-informed and climate/CEE aware.
My style is invitational and I also, when appropriate, offer gentle challenges and reframes. If you are neurodivergent, you may find it helpful to know that I myself am a late-diagnosed autistic man.
My fees are on a sliding scale, from £75-£95 per 50 minute session, depending on your means. Once we have met for a consultation session and agreed to work together, we will have a conversation about fees. I also offer a small number of appointments at concessionary fees for people with very limited means. Please enquire as to availability of concessionary appointments.

Supervision is a supportive relationship where we can explore and reflect on your practice together. Because we cannot know all of ourselves, it is essential to continually uncover our blind spots in a way which facilitates our learning as clinicians. Supervision is where we can be held by an experienced practitioner as we face into the challenges of the therapy work that we do.
As a gay man, diagnosed later-in-life as autistic, I am able to offer supervision for practitioners working with these client groups, bringing both clinical training & 25+years expertise, as well as lived experience. I work with both neurotypical and neurodivergent people in an affirming and non-pathologising way.
My supervision practice is underpinned by the values of creativity and appropriate spontaneity. I am relational in approach and integrate psychodynamic, existential, trauma-informed and body-based perspectives into the way I work.
I have a Diploma in Creative Approaches to Supervision from the London Centre for Psychodrama. LCP is a UKCP-approved training provider.
My first session
At your first supervision session, we will spend some time taking an overview of your work, getting a big picture of what is important to you as a practitioner and contracting for our work together.
