About me and my therapy practice

Hello and warm welcome!

Are you curious about change? Want to feel better? Gain a better understanding of yourself and others?

Whatever your reason for being here is, it is valid, change is possible and talking really can help.

How can talking help?

Our thoughts, emotions and learned beliefs drive our actions. Usually, this process happens so fast that it stays outside of our awareness. The problem appears, when what we are doing no longer serve us well, leaving us with the out of control, out of sync, or stuck feeling, or sensation. We start to notice this pattern, but find ourselves unable to change it, or notice it quickly enough to change the outcome.

Talking to someone we trust and feel safe with often helps because it makes us feel seen, got and understood. In this space we gain a better understanding of ourselves and our environment, which in turn helps us create what I call "a buffer", enough space to connect with what we need, and/or desire, decide what to do about it and find a way how to action it. Talking with a skilled therapist in a safe and supportive space, available on a regular, frequent and continuous bases, boosts this process, helps bring greater awareness, promotes agency and with it sense of control, relief and positive, long lasting change.

What to expect?

When you come to me, you will be welcomed in a warm, nurturing, supportive, non-judgemental and gently challenging space. Our work will be a collaboration held together by honesty, transparency, trust, a pinch of humour and a generous amount of dedication to be alongside you, to understand your relationship patterns, your needs and your aims.

To find out more, get in touch, leave me a message or drop me an email. I will be happy to hear from you. I offer a free 20 minute initial consultation.

Thanks for visiting!

Practice description

Over the past 11 years I have helped many people with wide range of issues, including anxiety, stress, depression, relationships, self-esteem, confidence, loss, grief, feeling stuck, parenting, navigating neurodiversity and identity issues.

I particularly enjoy and have extensive experience working with any form of anxiety and issues related to relationships and family dynamics.

I also have a wealth of experience and interest in supporting mothers and fathers on their journey through parenthood.

Before becoming a therapist and throughout my training I spent many hours working in childcare, alongside families, gaining invaluable insight into relationship patterns, attachment styles, generational pass-downs, parenting and coping strategies and how these play out in the wider context in our lives.

I will bring this experience with me into our therapy work. It will help us identify which patterns and coping strategies are keeping you stuck and which make sense to you, help you flourish and are worth keeping and expanding on.

My style of work is integrative and relational - this means that I am able to draw upon various theoretical approaches and therapeutic techniques, such as psychodynamic, person-centred and solution-focused theories, including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).

The core of my work lies in creating a good and trusting relationship. Helping people to fulfil their potential by reconnecting with and building on their strengths and inner resources.

To find out more, get in touch, or visit my website. I offer a free, 20 minute video, or telephone consultation to help us decide if we are the right fit.
