About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Stephen — an experienced counsellor offering support to individuals, couples, and those in diverse relationship models. I provide both in-person sessions in Clifton, Bristol (BS8) and online therapy.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in helping clients find new ways to navigate challenges and make more informed choices. Sessions offer a safe and confidential space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace.

I have a particular interest in working with issues relating to sexuality and sexual identity, both individually and within relationships. I also bring extensive experience supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community.

I’m an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹ԭ´´) and hold a Postgraduate Diploma (Distinction) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Practice description

As an integrative therapist, I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each client or clients, drawing on a variety of therapeutic methods to enhance wellbeing and deepen self-awareness. I’ve supported many individuals and couples facing challenges such as:

• Anxiety, depression, or low self-confidence

• Relationship difficulties

• Work, or career concerns

• Questions or struggles around sexuality

• Life transitions and the search for a more fulfilling future

My first session

Whether you're seeking therapy as an individual, as a couple, our first meeting provides an opportunity to explore what brings you here and what you hope to gain from counselling. I’ll be interested in learning more about you – your experiences, concerns, and goals – and you’ll have the chance to ask questions about how I work and what to expect.

Together, we’ll consider how therapy might support you and how we can work collaboratively to create a space that feels safe, respectful and tailored to your needs. For couples, this is likely to include understanding the dynamics of your relationship and identifying areas you'd like to strengthen or resolve.

Your initial session is offered at a reduced rate of £30 and lasts 50 minutes for individuals and 60 minutes for couples. Sessions will then take place at the same time each week. There’s no fixed rule about how long therapy should last—it can be short-term or ongoing, and you’re always in control of how long you choose to continue.

Each session after our first meeting is £65 for individuals (50 minutes) and £80 for couples (60 minutes).
