About me and my therapy practice

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Graduate Diploma in Psychoanalytic Studies, a Master of Science in Psychotherapy (Honours), and a Bachelor of Science in Mental Health Nursing (First-Class Honours). My practice is grounded in psychoanalytic and psychotherapeutic principles, embracing a holistic approach that recognises the unique strengths and challenges of each client.

As a practitioner committed to the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions set forth by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹ԭ´´), my work is guided by core values such as respect for human rights, promoting client wellbeing, and ensuring the integrity of the practitioner-client relationship. My primary commitment is to put clients first, fostering a secure and trusting environment where they can engage in meaningful exploration of their thoughts and feelings.

I also work in a mental health clinical assessment unit, where I support individuals experiencing mental health crises. This role allows me to incorporate same-day emergency therapeutic interventions, delivered under the strict supervision of a multidisciplinary team. This collaborative environment ensures that I can provide the highest standard of care while remaining accountable for the ethical implications of my work.

My approach emphasises autonomy, allowing clients to guide their therapeutic journey while ensuring that I act in their best interests. I respect client confidentiality and actively seek feedback to adapt my methods to fit their needs.

By integrating these principles and values into my practice, I aim to create a supportive therapeutic space that empowers clients and enhances their resilience and well-being. Thank you for considering my services; I look forward to supporting you on your journey.

My first session

I offer a reduced rate of £25 for our first 45-minute session, providing an accessible opportunity for you to experience my therapeutic approach. During this initial meeting, we will discuss the therapeutic contract, outlining what therapy involves and the process we will follow together. This is a crucial time to explore your goals, dreams, and aspirations for the outcomes you wish to achieve through our work.

We will also assess the type of therapeutic approach that would best suit your needs, whether that be online, telephone, video sessions, or in-person appointments, including the option of nature therapeutic walks. I need to understand your holistic needs, so we can create a tailored approach that resonates with you.

In our first session, we will take the time to explore what therapy entails, clarifying any questions you may have. This session is an opportunity not only to gather information but also to begin building a trusting relationship where you feel comfortable expressing your thoughts and feelings.

I am committed to providing a professional yet welcoming atmosphere where your well-being is prioritised. I aim to ensure that this experience is not only informative but also conducive to fostering a strong and supportive therapeutic alliance. Thank you for considering this first step in your therapeutic journey; I look forward to meeting you and embarking on this process together.
