About me and my therapy practice
Understanding your life more clearly and in a more balanced way can have a powerful, healing effect.
I am experienced in short-term solution-focussed counselling and open-ended long term therapy. I work with generalised anxiety, stress and panic disorders, performance anxiety and creative block. I have extensive experience with alcohol, drug, gambling and internet addictions, and with those experiencing the everyday difficulties of life in an increasingly mad world.
I have thirty years experience working within the creative industries and twenty five years of working with addictions.
My clients range widely from teenagers suffering the burden of parental expectations to older clients finding difficulty in accepting life changes, and in search of more meaning and peace in their life.
I offer secure, non-judgemental and completely confidential support to explore your issues.
Practice description
Psychosynthesis is a psycho-spiritual practice that encompasses what is happening in the mind, the emotions and the body along with the client's spiritual condition. A part of psychosynthesis practice is to hold clients 'bifocally', that is to say being mindful of what the client is presenting alongside what positive element is trying to emerge; new or stronger boundaries, acceptance, taking action, undergoing change, moving through a grieving process or just making sense of what has happened in life.
I facilitate this using a range of techniques including observation and enquiry, meditations, visualisations and mindfulness exercises that allow the client to explore themselves at their own pace and without engaging the defences that may otherwise prevent deeper understanding.
My first session
We will usually begin with a review of presenting issues and an in-depth assessment, gathering relevant information about current circumstances, life experiences good and bad, and an appraisal of close family members, and this will often determine the direction of the work going forward.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a Â鶹Դ´ accredited Psychosynthesis Practitioner and Â鶹Դ´ and NCPS accredited Supervisor, with many years’ experience supporting adults with a wide range of emotional, psychological and relational difficulties.
My practice is integrative and transpersonal, with Psychosynthesis forming the foundation of my approach. I work with the whole person, recognising that therapy is not only about relieving distress but also about developing self-awareness, understanding patterns of behaviour, and exploring questions of meaning, identity and purpose.
My experience includes working with anxiety, depression, trauma, shame, addiction, relationship difficulties, emotional dysregulation, life transitions and complex relational patterns.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship itself is central to meaningful change. Together we explore not only current difficulties, but also the life experiences, family dynamics, beliefs and unconscious patterns that may continue to influence how someone experiences themselves and relates to others.
Alongside my therapy practice, I offer clinical supervision informed by the transpersonal and integrative model developed by Alkemia. This approach reflects my belief that therapists, like clients, continue to grow through curiosity, reflection and deeper understanding of themselves and the relational field in which they work.
Practice description
Transpersonal & Integrative Clinical Supervision
I offer online and in person clinical supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. As therapists, we can naturally become focused on the needs, struggles and growth of our clients. In the model of transpersonal supervision in which I trained — developed by Alkemia — supervision holds a wider field of awareness: the wellbeing, development and process of both therapist and client.
My approach is collaborative rather than directive. I encourage supervisees to initially present their clients as factually as possible, setting aside early hypotheses or formulations. This creates space for us to explore the client together with curiosity, openness and fresh perspective.
Alongside ethical considerations and good clinical practice, we may explore the client’s family history, formative experiences, relationships, attachment patterns and boundaries. We will also pay close attention to what emerges within the therapeutic relationship itself, including parallel process, countertransference and the therapist’s own responses.
My aim is to provide a reflective, supportive and challenging space where supervisees can develop confidence, deepen their clinical understanding and remain connected to themselves as practitioners.
Field mapping forms a fundamental part of the consultative work and exploring the role of shame as a mediating force in the work.
I bring many years’ experience of working with complex emotional presentations, addiction, relational difficulties and questions of meaning, identity and purpose.
The Alkemia supervision training has received UKCP accreditation.
I am qualified in transpersonal and integrative supervision. I trained with Alkimia Training, a UKCP-approved training organisation.
My first session
I currently offer counselling, psychotherapy and clinical supervision both online and in person.
Therapy sessions are usually held weekly. Clinical supervision is available weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on individual requirements and stage of practice.
I believe that consistency and continuity are important parts of effective therapeutic work. However, I also believe therapists need rhythm and time for reflection. I value the importance of maintaining balance and renewal as a practitioner, enabling me to remain fully present and engaged with my clients and supervisees.
I usually take planned breaks during Christmas and Easter, approximately two weeks in June, and one to two weeks during September. These dates are discussed in advance so that clients and supervisees have clarity around planned breaks.
Please contact me to discuss current availability and whether my approach feels right for you.
