About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Tracy Levy Mulleague

• Are you fed up of wearing a mask pretending everything is, ok?

• Maybe your feeling overwhelmed, fearful, stuck in your own thoughts, or weighed down by anxiety?

• Perhaps your tired of the past impacting on your life now.

Many people feel hesitant or unsure about how counselling can help.

Counselling can provide a safe space for you to gain new insights, process feelings or learn new coping strategies.

Based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, I am an accredited Â鶹ԭ´´ counsellor with 25 years’ experience of helping people.

I specialise in working with people who have experienced any form of abuse which includes; psychological, sexual, domestic abuse or bullying whether recent,  historically or within childhood.

The impact of any form of abuse can be short term or last throughout a lifetime.  The impact is different for each person and may include: anxiety, feeling out of control, relationship issues, anger, overthinking, depression, shame, dissociation, PTSD, flashbacks, low self value, poor body image, lacking confidence, unhealthy personal boundaries, self sabotage or an inability to manage emotions.

Additionally I have an interest working with people who experience anxiety.

I understand how exhausting it can feel to constantly overthink, focus on the negatives, worry about the "what if's" and what others think.  It is so difficult living with a sense of dread and feeling fearful without any logical reason.

Anxiety can often involve avoiding situations and places which can stop people from living a full life.

As counselling is a talking therapy I will encourage you to tell me  what is important to you and what you are finding difficult.  We will go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Counselling provides you with a safe space to express feelings and thoughts where you will be seen and heard without judgement.

Practice description

How I can help you

My approach is professional, warm and down-to-earth. I am an integrative counsellor meaning I combine different techniques and approaches tailored to meet individual needs.

I will encourage you to share your experiences so we can work together to increase your understanding or see things from different perspectives.

Depending on your goals for counselling and your preferred way of working our sessions may involve:

• A CBT approach involving unpicking and challenging unhelpful beliefs and thoughts which can be a more structured way of working and may involve completing tasks in between sessions.

• Using the sessions to discuss, explore and process your thoughts and feelings to enable more insight and understanding.

• Exploring how childhood or past experiences are impacting on you in the here and now to break free of old patterns or put the past to rest.

• Learning and developing new techniques and strategies.

Over the last 2 decades I have helped people from all walks of life and backgrounds in Huddersfield and across West Yorkshire to:

• Reduce anxiety, and break free from overthinking and worry.

• Regain a sense of control and improve well being.

• Process distressing experiences in order to put the past to rest.

• Rebuild confidence and self-worth

• Find long-lasting tools to feel more balanced and in control

Working with me isn’t about quick fixes – it’s about creating meaningful long lasting change!

Why choose me?

• 25 years’ experience of helping people achieve real and lasting change

• Â鶹ԭ´´ accredited counsellor, with a professional and       approachable style that puts you at ease.

• Specialist in anxiety counselling in Huddersfield.

• Specialist in providing counselling for abuse  and trauma recovery.

If you’re looking for a counsellor that can help you with anxiety or  trauma from abuse issues in Huddersfield or West Yorkshire, please get in touch as I’d be happy to talk through how I can help.

My first session

I offer a complimentary 15 minute phone call in order for me to gain an overview of what you are experiencing and for you to decide if you would like to arrange an initial assessment.

The initial assessment lasts for up to an hour and is an opportunity for us to meet in person or online, and see if we are a comfortable fit to work together.

This appointment differs from a counselling session, as the aim is for me to gather some background information and more specifics about what you are wanting help with and what you wish to achieve in counselling.  It involves me asking more questions than I would in a counselling session.

You can ask questions about how I work as a therapist, or raise any concerns you may have about counselling.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an approachable and down-to-earth practitioner dedicated on providing a supportive ethical environment which enables professional and personal development.

I provide clinical supervision for experienced counsellors and trainee counsellors throughout their practitioner training

I am trained in person-centred and psychodynamic modalities; and over many years have developed into an integrative supervisor, blending other interventions from my therapeutic toolbox when appropriate.

I am able to provide clinical supervision from an integrative or person-centred approach to fit with the practitioner’s practice or trainee’s training modality.

Relationship is at the heart of my work!

Supervision is a collaborative process built on trust, empathy, acceptance and mutual respect where supervisee’s feel comfortable taking risks, sharing thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement.

I promote self-reflection and self-care, encouraging supervisees to embrace their individual style and learning process.

Appreciating different perspectives, experiences and developmental needs, I tailor my approach to the individual, which may include structure, support, encouragement, education, normalising, space, challenge, mentorship, or validation.

When ethical issues arise, they are addressed collaboratively before I determine the need for guidance, support, or challenge. A respectful challenge encourages consideration of alternative perspectives, deeper reflection and clarity.

Additionally, I also offer counselling for students undertaking counselling training from a person-centred or integrative approach.

Practice description

I work with qualified practitioners ranging from newly qualified to very experienced.

Additionally I work with trainee counsellors whose training ranges from level 4 up to Masters level.

I offer a reduced rate of £50.00 per hour for trainees.

Regardless of a supervisee's experience, modality or skill level....... relationship is at the heart of my practice!

I believe a practitioner will only share openly with a clinical supervisor if they are provided with an environment of acceptance, respect and warmth, where they will be seen and heard without judgement.

I work online and in person.
