About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Mel. I help children (8+), young people, and adults shift from feeling isolated and misunderstood too confident and empowered. My approach is to help you with anxiety, depression or neurodivergent issues, collaborative and non-judgmental, focusing on building self-compassion and emotional regulation.
I also help people gain clarity about their relationship patterns—what’s healthy, what isn’t, and how to create the kind of connection that feels safe, stable, and genuinely supportive.
I can help you to calm your mind and manage emotional overwhelm by integrating mindfulness techniques into our sessions.
I help children to express them selves, process their big feelings and build confidence by working creatively and using the healing power of play.
I truly believe that therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating. It can be a space where you're met with compassion, curiosity, and support — and where small steps can lead to meaningful change.
Practice description
I offer a warm, accepting, empathic space where you can talk openly about whatever is on your mind — whether it’s rooted in the past, present, or future. I use an integrative approach which means I draw on various approaches to fit the individual needs of each client.
I have experience supporting neurodivergent clients. My aim is always to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where you can explore your experiences at your own pace.
Life can be overwhelming at times, Let's work together to help you thrive.
I can offer both long term and short term therapy.
My first session
Seeking support can feel scary and overwhelming but I want to put your mind at ease and let you know that in my sessions, there's no pressure, we can go at your pace.
In the first session I will have some questions to go through with you to help me get an idea of what's going on for you and how I can support you. I will also be able to answer any questions about counselling you might have.
The first session is an opportunity for you to see if you feel comfortable with me and if you will be happy to work with me.
I also offer a free 15 minute consultation telephone call where I can answer any initial questions.
