About me and my therapy practice
I provide counselling and psychotherapy in central Cambridge, within a confidential and professional environment.
I am Accredited and Registered as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹Դ´) and have provided counselling and therapy since 2002.
Trained in integrative therapy, I draw from three main approaches: Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).
I offer focused, short-term counselling (typically 6-8 appointments) as well as long-term therapy for anyone with more complex issues or wanting to work in more depth.
I have considerable experience in working with a wide range of problems including low mood, depression, stress, anxiety, panic attacks, grief, relationships, low self-esteem, identity, work and study issues.
My areas of interest include working with people going through changes in their lives (such as loss, separation, family changes, migration or lifestage change). I help people to manage the stages of transition, to cope with the psychological impact of being in a liminal space and to make sense of whatever changes they are experiencing and how best to navigate them.
In addition to working with a general adult population in my private practice, I have 18 years' experience working in university counselling services with students, including St John's College, University of Cambridge. I can offer counselling to students aged 18 or above.
I bring warmth, empathy, a non-judgemental attitude and a sense of humour. I can be gently challenging where necessary, while being supportive and compassionate.
Practice description
Appointments last 50 minutes and are generally at the same time each week.
In-person appointments are at Brooklands Therapy, which is based on the 2nd floor of a terraced house on Brooklands Avenue. My consulting room offers comfort and privacy in an easy to access central location.
There is no lift available.
Online appointments are offered on either Zoom or Google Meet.
Once an initial session is arranged, I send a copy of my Terms and Conditions which we discuss in our first session or before, if preferred.
My first session
Your first session is an opportunity to explore whether counselling might be helpful, to find out more about me and whether you'd like to work with me.
I will listen to what has led you to seek counselling. I will ask you some questions about yourself, your background and how your issues are affecting your life and general wellbeing.
If we decide to work together, I generally suggest meeting for six sessions. In the sixth session we can review how things are going and decide how to go forward.
If I feel that I'm not going to be able to provide the kind of help that you are likely to benefit from, I will do my best to suggest alternative sources of support that might be more helpful.

About me and my therapy practice
I bring over 20 years' experience of counselling and therapy to my supervision practice. I am highly experienced in university counselling and have worked in four very different higher education institutions. I also started working in private practice in 2014, offering short-term counselling and long-term therapy to a wide range of clients.
I successfully completed a Diploma in Supervision in April 2022 with Cambridge Supervision Training. This is a comprehensive and accredited 15-month training programme.
I can provide supervision and reflective practice sessions to counsellors, therapists, health professionals and anyone in a welfare or wellbeing role.
If you are interested in supervision with me, please contact me with any questions you may have and to arrange an initial meeting to talk about the possibility of working together.
