About me and my therapy practice
Hello, and a warm welcome.
I’m Wendy, a highly experienced and compassionate therapist based in Sidcup. I’ve been a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹Դ´) for over 25 years and have held accredited status for almost 20. My work is rooted in genuine care, understanding, and a deep belief in your ability to heal and grow.
I offer counselling to individuals and couples, creating a safe, respectful, and confidential space where you can explore what’s going on for you — whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just need someone to talk to who will truly listen.
As a Â鶹Դ´ Accredited Supervisor, I offer reflective and ethical supervision for counsellors, therapists, and trainees. I bring a collaborative, nurturing approach to help you grow professionally while maintaining your wellbeing and boundaries.

My first session
Your first counselling session is a gentle starting point — a space where we begin to get to know each other. I’ll invite you to share what’s brought you to counselling and what you hope to gain from it. You’re welcome to go at your own pace — there’s no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with.
I’ll explain how I work, answer any questions you may have, and we’ll talk through things like confidentiality, boundaries, and practicalities. It’s also a chance for you to get a feel for whether I’m the right fit for you.
Above all, the first session is about creating a sense of safety, trust, and respect — the foundations of any meaningful therapeutic relationship.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a Â鶹Դ´ Accredited Supervisor I have worked as a Supervisor for 13 years and a Counsellor for over 20 years.
My approach is Person Centred and I offer a professional overview of your work, together with guidance from an ethical and theoretical position as well as my many years of experience. It is important to me that you feel comfortable within our supervision sessions and able to work honestly and confidently with me so that you can, in turn, work well and successfully with your clients, secure in the knowledge that you are supported in all aspects of your work.
My work is based upon Michael Carroll’s model of supervision which utilises seven tasks: to set up a ‘learning relationship’; to teach; to evaluate; to monitor professional ethical issues; to counsel; to consult and also to monitor administrative aspects. I feel that working together with these tasks in mind will allow you to feel supported as you grow and develop within your work with your clients, with a feeling that you are always moving forwards.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to receive supervision.
Practice description
I am a Â鶹Դ´ Accredited Supervisor with over 15 years’ experience in supervision and more than 25 years as a practising counsellor. I offer a safe, collaborative space where you can reflect openly on your work, deepen your understanding, and grow in confidence and clarity as a practitioner.
My approach is rooted in Person-Centred values, with a strong foundation in ethical practice, theory, and lived experience. I bring a gentle but structured presence, offering thoughtful guidance, professional insight, and a respectful holding of the emotional, relational, and ethical dimensions of our work.
I draw on Michael Carroll’s Seven Tasks of Supervision, which include supporting learning, offering consultation, ensuring ethical awareness, and providing space for emotional processing and development. My intention is to walk alongside you — to support you, challenge you when needed, and champion your growth, both professionally and personally.
Supervision with me is a place where you can feel heard, encouraged, and equipped — so you can continue to support your clients with clarity, confidence, and care.
If you’d like to explore working together, I’d love to hear from you.
My first session
Our first supervision session is an opportunity to get to know each other and explore how we might work together in a way that supports you and your practice. I’ll invite you to share your current client work, your experience so far, and any areas where you’re seeking support, reflection, or guidance.
We’ll also talk through practicalities such as frequency of sessions, note-keeping, and ethical considerations. I’ll explain how I work — drawing from a Person-Centred foundation and Michael Carroll’s Seven Tasks of Supervision — and there will be plenty of space for questions.
This initial meeting is about creating a safe, trusting relationship where you can feel comfortable being open and honest in your work, knowing that you’re supported, understood, and professionally held.
