About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist with over 15 years of supporting individuals and couples through life’s more complex emotional landscapes. My work is grounded in warmth, insight, and a deep respect for the courage it takes to seek support.
I offer a calm, thoughtful space where both partners can slow down, feel heard, and begin to understand the patterns shaping their relationship. Whether you are facing ongoing conflict, betrayal, or the strain of life transitions, therapy provides an opportunity to step out of reactive cycles and move towards greater clarity and connection.
Alongside my established psychotherapy practice, I have trained to work with couples and am currently undertaking advanced specialist training to further deepen my practice. This reflects my ongoing commitment to professional development and to offering the highest standard of therapeutic care.
My approach is balanced and non-judgemental. I do not take sides; instead, I help each partner feel understood while gently guiding the relationship towards greater awareness, repair, and possibility. For some couples this means rebuilding and strengthening their bond, while for others it may involve gaining clarity about the future, both are approached with care, steadiness and respect.
At the heart of my work is the belief that even in periods of disconnection, relationships hold the potential for understanding, growth and meaningful change.

About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Alex I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist. With 15 years experience working with individuals and groups to help people find their peace, place, meaning and purpose.
My biggest passion is supporting women in their midlife and beyond. Helping to support before during and after Menopause. Help with divorce, anxiety, depression, financial anxiety, careers, death/ illness/ care of parents, body image, weight issues, physical changes, libido, anger, self-esteem, relationships, role loss, empty nest, bereavement, health well-being and life in general. I am an active longevity advocate and work with women to get them to a place of strength in all ways. I work short or long term with clients, depending on what they would like to do.
I work in an Integrative way – this means I use different schools of thought and theory, e.g not just CBT or not just Psychodynamic, depending on what my client’s needs are and their response to the process. Person Centred means the client leads the way, as opposed to the therapist being in the driving seat.
Practice description
I offer 50 minute 1-2-1 therapy sessions online or in person. This is known as a Therapy HourA contract in counselling usually refers to the initial agreement between the client and counsellor, which sets out some of the rights and responsibilities of both parties. It has two distinct parts: the business part, which sets out the ground rules or framework for the work, and the therapeutic side, which sets out the client’s expressed needs and choices. Both parts need to be given careful thought as they form the basis of ethical and legal commitments between practitioner and client. By signing the contract, the counsellor agrees that they are competent to meet the client’s goals and the client agrees to the conditions laid down. In essence, the contract sets out the rights and responsibilities of both parties.
My first session
A huge part of counselling and therapy is the relationship between the Client and their therapist – it must feel right for you. In this spirit I offer a free online consultation and then if you decide to work with me and it is appropriate for me to do so, we can work towards agreeing our contract and go from there
