About me and my therapy practice
About Me
Hi, I'm Craig, an experienced Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (BABCP Accredited) and Counsellor (Â鶹Դ´ Accredited). My aim is to increase your understanding about what might be causing you distress and then to work together bringing about meaningful and lasting change.
With over twenty-five years of experience as a therapist, I have a deep understanding of various therapeutic modalities. While my practice has evolved, my current approach leans strongly towards Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), given its proven efficacy. My experience extends to working with a wide range of psychological difficulties, providing me with a comprehensive perspective on mental health challenges. Indeed, I have been actively involved in mental health and therapy delivery for over forty years, serving in diverse settings and continuously refining my expertise
Practice description
My Approach to Therapy
I recognise that embarking on the journey of therapy and discussing deeply personal experiences can be incredibly difficult. It takes courage to open up, and I am here to provide a safe, confidential, and empathetic space for you to do so. My commitment is to actively listen, truly hear your concerns, and offer unwavering support.
Collaboration is at the heart of my therapeutic approach. I believe that effective treatment is a partnership, and I will work closely with you to develop a personalised treatment plan. This plan will be carefully tailored to meet your unique needs, goals, and circumstances, ensuring that our work together is relevant and impactful for you.
My first session
I want to create a space whereby you feel comfortable to tell your story. Through developing a joint understanding of what might be causing your difficulties we can come to an agreement as to possible goals. I will need to guide you through a flexible assessment so as I am aware of the best way to structure further therapy.
