About me and my therapy practice
I work in a collaborative way that allows us both to talk and think together, so we can explore and understanding the things you're struggling with.
When we understand something, we can start to form a new relationship with it and form new ways of seeing ourselves.
I'm interested in how your past has shaped you and how it's impacting you in the present.
I also draw upon ideas from existential philosophy, where the themes of freedom, choice, responsibility, meaning, connection, isolation and death are ever-present. These themes will provide us with a guide to help navigate our way through your challenges.
I have experience of and a particular interest in working with the following:
Living with life-limiting conditions/illness
Anticipatory grief
Bereavement & loss
Anxiety
Relationship issues - partners, family, friends, colleagues
Low self-esteem
Lack of confidence
Lack of meaning or direction in life
Life transitions - career change, parenthood, empty nest, retirement, relationship break-up, major change of life circumstances
Qualifications
MSc Existential Psychotherapy (2024)

Before working as a therapist, I worked in the charity sector for twelve years as a support worker, working with people affected by homelessness, mental health issues and addictions and in the women's sector, with women affected by domestic abuse.
My first career was in television production, working as a researcher on light entertainment programmes.
Practice description
I provide online therapy on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
After you contact me, I'll offer you an appointment time for an initial session, which will give us an opportunity to meet and for you to tell me more about yourself and what you're looking for from therapy and I'll explain how I think I can help you.
We'll arrange a regular appointment time so we can both arrange other commitments around it.
Working with me will give you a space to talk, reflect, explore and understand your feelings and experiences and find new ways of being with them.
My first session
Our first session give us both an opportunity to meet and for you to tell me more about your current situation. I will ask you questions about your current relationships, but I'm also interested in your upbringing and your family of origin as this will help me to understand you and your experiences in context.
You can also ask me any questions you may have and I will tell you how think I can help you.
Towards the end of the session, we will decide if we want to continue working together or if you'd prefer to have some time to think about it, you're welcome to do so and contact me later with your decision.
