About me and my therapy practice

Offering relationship support to individuals and couples to establish healthier connections and promote emotional safety.

Reaching out for counselling can feel like a significant step, particularly when you may already be feeling uncertain, overwhelmed or stuck. My aim is to offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever is happening in your life, or your relationships, at a pace that feels right for you.

You may be experiencing difficulties in a relationship, adjusting to a change in your life, questioning what you want, or finding that familiar ways of coping no longer seem to work. Sometimes there may not be one clear problem – you might simply know that something doesn’t feel right.

Together, we can explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion, making space to understand patterns, relationships and emotions that may be affecting you. I won’t tell you what you should do. Instead, I will work alongside you to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, consider new perspectives and find a way forward that feels meaningful to you.

Practice description

My practice is integrative, allowing me to adapt the way I work according to each person’s individual needs, experiences and reasons for coming to counselling. Rather than using a fixed approach, we can explore both what is happening for you in the present and, where helpful, how earlier experiences or relationships may be influencing the way you feel, relate to others or respond to situations today.

I work with adults from a wide range of backgrounds and welcome clients bringing many different concerns. A particular part of my work involves supporting people with relationship difficulties and periods of change or transition. This might include changes within intimate or family relationships, separation or loss, changes in work or circumstances, questions about identity or direction, or simply reaching a point where life no longer feels as it once did.

Counselling can provide an opportunity to slow things down and look more closely at experiences that can be difficult to make sense of alone. We may notice recurring patterns, explore difficult feelings, consider the needs that can become lost within relationships, and develop greater awareness of how you relate to yourself and others.

Our work will be collaborative and guided by what is important to you. My intention is to provide a thoughtful, accepting space in which you can feel heard and understood while also being gently supported to explore areas that may feel difficult or unfamiliar.

My first session

The first session allows us to meet and get a good overview of the issues you're facing and what a good outcome looks like for you.

It will give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have and will give us the opportunity to ultimately decide if the therapy I can offer you is right for you.

It is very important to choose the right counsellor for you so this first session also aims to allow you to get a feel for me as a person and how I work so you know you're making the right choice. There will be no pressure to book another appointment, you are free to walk away and consider your options.

Lots of people find a sense of relief from this first session, just having been able to talk about what's happening for them.

Others come away with a better understanding of what is needed just from this one session.

Your first session can be both a real eye-opener and an opportunity to finally feel heard and understood. Make contact today to get started.
