About me and my therapy practice
I am a highly empathic and caring therapist, and I am here to offer myself and my skills to support you in whatever challenges you may be experiencing or feeling today, whether it be emotional, physical or relational.
I am a Person-Centred counsellor, which means the relationship we build & the trust and understanding we create is key to the counselling process. It also means you are the expert in your life & experiences, and I am here to support you in making changes & gaining greater understanding.
I use an 'Integrative' approach to the therapy, which means I use a variety of skills and techniques in the sessions to both help & support you.
Additionally, I bring a wealth of life experience to the therapy, which I feel enhances the counselling process. I have also helped a diverse range of clients with their needs, which again adds another depth to the therapy.
Practice description
First time in therapy?
I will offer a caring approach to coming to therapy for the first time and hope to settle any anxieties you may have about therapy/ counselling; my aim is to make you at ease.
My Experience:
I have over 10 years’ experience as a therapist.
I am a qualified therapist, also known as a counsellor or psychotherapist and hold a Diploma in therapeutic counselling.
I am a qualified NLP practitioner.
I also have experience in Mindfulness, Hypnotherapy, Acceptance therapy and always aim for continued professional development.
I am insured and have supervision to ensure I am working safely and effectively.
My first session
Pre-Session 1 (FREE):
FREE initial phone 10 min consultation (if required) to discuss your needs and see whether I would be the right person for you to work with - Of course you are welcome to simply book in for your first session.
Session 1 (includes assessment):
We further discuss your needs and learn what has brought you to therapy, what you feel you need and how we will work together. We can also set or begin to think about some therapeutic goals for you.
Further Counselling Sessions:
Usually 50 mins in duration and ideally weekly, as evidence suggests regular therapy gives the best outcomes.
Session Types:
I offer In Person, Online (or Phone) and Walk & Talk therapy. Our sessions can be a combination of the above if that suits you.
Confidentiality:
Everything we discuss remains in confidence, with limited exceptions which will be explained before our first session.
