About me and my therapy practice
My private practice is in CB2, with free car parking near the Bio-Med campus in Cambridge.
I have extensive experience of working with both students and academics at the University, and with hospital doctors and GPs. I also work couples. I led a university counselling service for many years where I specialised in working with young people and women returning to education. I have been a psychotherapist and counsellor for over thirty years, offering support with mental health, relationship and emotional issues in a range of different settings, including psychiatric and psychological services in both London and Cambridge.
I also offer group work and have facilitated mid life crisis groups and post natal depression groups for mums in struggle.
Fees on request.
Do email or call to see if I can help you.
Practice description
My approach is psychodynamic, which means that I work collaboratively with you to meet your needs. I have a pro-active and warm style, and am likely to ask many questions in order to explore the challenges and issues you are grappling with.
Some people come to therapy with clear ideas of the issues they want to work with; others feel a general discomfort or unhappiness with aspects of their lives and seek a reflective space in which to safely and confidentially explore this further. I offer a supportive and facilitative space to do this.
My first session
I offer a twenty minute introductory phone call free of charge to see if I can help you, and if so, to arrange an initial consultation.
It is usual to meet once a week, although sometimes more often. We would decide that together.
I offer short and long-term work.
What I can help with
Abuse, Anxiety, Bereavement, Child related issues, Cultural issues, Depression, Eating disorders, Health related issues, Infertility, Loss, Personal development, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Service veterans, Sexual identity, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Work related issues
