About me and my therapy practice
Why therapy with Fiona-Jane?
Hi, I am an accredited UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and a Member of Â鶹Դ´ as a Registered counsellor. My background is in the NHS, charity sector, industry and private practice.
I draw upon psychodynamic, relational, existential and trauma theories as an integrative therapist to think about the past, present and future.
People come to therapy with me for many reasons. I have worked with people, from different backgrounds, suffering from overwhelming anxieties, despair and depression. Living like this can often be linked with self criticism and criticism towards others. People may experience low self esteem, shame and isolation. They may not understand their feelings and behaviours. People may begin to question why relationship patterns persist and they may feel very stuck.
Grief arsing from a traumatic bereavement, including baby, child, parent, friend, colleague, pet, termination, miscarriage, homicide, suicide, may too evoke a wide range of difficult feelings making it hard to cope.
In my experience, therapy can help un-addressed difficulties feel more manageable. It can be a catalyst for growth and healing. Whilst the facts of the past cannot be changed, your story can be updated in therapy.
I work with people’s concerns in a safe, confidential, ethical and professional psychotherapy/counselling, and offer therapy that is inclusive of culture, race, gender identity and faith.
