About me and my therapy practice
Is life feeling overwhelming?.. Are you feeling stressed, anxious or stuck in a rut? Sometimes life can feel tough, painful or confusing! At times we understand why these feelings have arisen such as through bereavement, family, relationship or work problems, but often we may ask: 鈥榃hy am I feeling this way?鈥 Or we may just know that things are 鈥榥ot right鈥. These feelings will have a big impact on our relationships, work or ability to enjoy even the simplest things in life which can lead us to feel alone and isolated! Now is the time to stop struggling alone in the hope that things will get better on their own, and make a change!

About me and my therapy practice
You might look like you鈥檙e coping on the outside, but feel anxious, overwhelmed or not quite 鈥渆nough鈥 underneath.
Even when you understand why, things don鈥檛 seem to change.
Sometimes it isn鈥檛 just about what鈥檚 happening now, it鈥檚 about experiences that shaped how you respond to stress, conflict, rejection or uncertainty. When these patterns are left unexplored, they can leave you feeling stuck, self-critical or emotionally drained.
I offer a supportive but honest space where we can make sense of what鈥檚 happening beneath the surface. I won鈥檛 simply nod and listen, I will help you notice patterns, their origins and together we can find ways of respond differently.
I work integratively, drawing on person-centred therapy, CBT and EMDR. EMDR can be particularly helpful if you feel stuck in certain responses or reactions, even when you understand them logically. Therapy is always collaborative and paced carefully; you will never be pushed to explore something before you feel ready.
Clients often come to me with anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties or the lasting impact of earlier experiences.
Many of the people I work with are looking not just for relief, but for understanding and meaningful, lasting change.
I offer face-to-face sessions, walk-and-talk sessions in the Somerset countryside, online or telephone appointments, and home visits where appropriate.
If you鈥檙e unsure whether therapy is right for you, you鈥檙e welcome to get in touch for an initial, no-pressure conversation.
Practice description
I am an accredited integrative counsellor with experience working with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties. My approach is flexible and shaped around you, rather than following a fixed model.
In our work together, I aim to create a space where you feel able to speak openly, without judgement or pressure. Alongside this, I will help you to explore patterns in your thoughts, emotions and relationships so that things begin to make more sense.
Some clients come wanting space to talk, while others are looking for more insight or direction. I adapt to both. I will ask questions, offer observations and, where helpful, gently challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Always working at a pace that feels manageable for you.
You don鈥檛 need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can take time to understand what has brought you here and what you would like to change.
My first session
It鈥檚 completely normal to feel unsure or anxious about starting therapy.
The first session is an opportunity for us to get a sense of whether we feel comfortable working together.
We will talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you would like help with, at a pace that feels manageable for you. There is no expectation to share everything straight away.
Some people arrive knowing exactly what they want to talk about, while others feel unsure or overwhelmed. Both are completely okay, and we can take time to make sense of things together.
I will ask questions to understand your situation, but there is no pressure to go into detail before you feel ready. The focus is on helping you feel at ease and beginning to build a way of working that suits you.
You are welcome to ask any questions about the process, and we can decide together how you would like to move forward.
If you prefer, we can have a brief initial conversation before booking to see if I am the right fit for you.
