About me and my therapy practice

CBT Psychotherapist/Hypnotherapist. 28 years of experience working with adults and adolescents ( teenagers) in the NHS (CAMHS) and other settings. I will make sure you feel heard, valued, understood and supported to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to support you in finding out what you want to change or process.

Change can be difficult, however I have spent much time over my working life to identify the most effective ways of supporting my clients to change  and how to make therapy a positive and fulfilling experience.

I use Psychotherapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and  Solution Focused Hypnotherapy to work with issues such as anxiety, depression, stress management, panic attacks, ADHD, ASC, OCD and addictions  (alcohol and drugs).  I am highly qualified and experienced working with all these disciplines and issues.

I am also now offering Solution Focused Hypnotherapy alongside my other treatment options to support the change process for a range of conditions that can be stubborn to treat. eg. anxieties, phobias, EBSA, low mood, low confidence and self esteem, panic attacks, smoking cessation amongst other things.

Also, I have a wealth of experience of working with Neuro-Diverse Young People ASC ADHD (extensive experience in NHS services)

Coaching and Hypnotherapy to support both adults and young people in their personal development and striving for improved wellbeing and life fulfilment.

Hypnotherapy is a dynamic and inspiring process that will support more traditional approaches of working and create greater effectiveness in the change process you will be seeking.

What to expect

How I work?

I use Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Solution Focused Hypnotherapy to offer you the opportunity to offer you a therapeutic approach that best suits your needs. I work in a flexible way thinking creatively and reflectively in consideration of your age, gender, sexuality, race and culture, disabilities, religion and spiritual beliefs you identify with.

Approach

I am able to work with you over the short or long term, focusing primarily on present and future-orientated treatment, but with the opportunity to explore your past and how this can programme the conscious and unconscious minds to have a powerful bearing on your life today.

Specific issues like Anxiety, depression, stress management, panic attacks, ADHD, ASC, OCD and addictions (alcohol and drugs) amongst other things can also be selectively treated if you want to focus on managing issues that have become problematic and are acting as an obstacle to your life moving forward.

As a clinician, I have extensive experience of completing assessments, formulations and interventions for most mental health presentations, including complex psychological, emotional and behavioural challenges. Working for 17 years in a multi-disciplinary environment within the NHS and other services has afforded me wide experience and perspective of medical, family, individual, group, psychological and behavioural practices. I specialise in the following conditions and offer great expertise in effective ways of working with them: Anxiety, depression, stress management, panic attacks, ADHD, ASC, OCD and addictions amongst other things.

My differing treatment approaches allow me to target these conditions with a range of evidenced based strategies supporting positive outcomes for my clients. I follow the science, but have a holistic mindset that allows for creativity, warmth and empathy.
