About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Supervisor and offer supervision at the rate of £55/hour, or £75 for 1.5 hours. As an Integrative Counsellor, I have 17 years of experience working in Private Practice, agencies (Cruse Bereavement Care and MIND), NHS Talking Therapies and Employee Assistance Programs. I am also a qualified CBT therapist, and offer this as a stand alone approach in my Private Practice and with EAPs.
Finding a supervisor may seem daunting and there are many things to consider in order to come to a decision about who to work with. Ultimately, in a supervisor, you will want to find someone with whom you feel comfortable working, and who will be able to support you to meet your needs. One size doesn’t fit all! Whatever your level of knowledge or experience, I view supervision as a collaboration between colleagues in a confidential, safe, and non-judgemental environment. It is an opportunity to reflect on your work and theory, explore challenges and interventions, share your fears and disappointments, but also, importantly, to celebrate the triumphs and victory moments. Although the material in supervision may be serious or sombre at times, I also seek to find humour where appropriate, and enjoyment of the supervision process.
Being an accredited and registered member of the Â鶹Դ´ means that I have met the required standards of training, supervision and continuing professional development, and am committed to working within the Ethical Framework of the organisation.
Practice description
I have some f2f availability and can also offer supervision online. I do not offer evening appointments.
My first session
During your first session I will explain the boundaries and limitations of the contract with you (confidentiality, cancellation policy etc) and we will talk about your needs and goals from supervision.
In order to achieve the most out of your sessions, it is important that you feel comfortable working with your supervisor . As a supervisor, my aim would be to support and encourage you in your work, and share my knowledge and experience in line with your goals. I believe there is no end to personal and professional growth and development (mine and yours), and creating an authentic, non-judgemental space in the supervision relationship, can facilitate this. I look forward to not only supporting others in their work, but also discovering what I might learn through their experiences too.

My first session
Counselling is an opportunity to explore your emotions and experiences, understand yourself better, and discover what lies behind the things that are troubling you or keeping the problems going. During your first session I will explain the boundaries and limitations of the contract with you (confidentiality, cancellation policy etc) and will then listen to understand in a non judgmental way, the issues which concern you. I will work with you to identify your goals for therapy, and explore the approach that is most suitable and appropriate to your needs.
In order to achieve the most out of your sessions, it is important that you feel comfortable working with your therapist . At the end of your first session I will explore options going forward, and discuss next steps with you. There is no obligation to continue if you do not wish to. Likewise, if at any point I felt that I was not the best person to be working with you, I would share this and seek to offer an alternative.
