Opening in February 2026, our accredited member to senior accredited member (SCoPEd column B to C) route 2: Level 7 qualification route, will be for accredited members who have attained a validated Level 7 counselling or psychotherapy qualification that meets the eligibility criteria.Ìý
Eligibility criteria overview
To apply you’ll need to:Ìý
- be an accredited member of Âé¶¹Ô´´
- be practising as a counsellor or psychotherapist. You must have been in practice for at least four years when you apply for senior accreditation
- have successfully completed a formally validated Level 7 counselling or psychotherapy qualification that included assessment on:Ìý
- critical appraisal of the history of psychological ideas, the cultural context, and relevant social and political theories and application of this knowledge and understanding to inform and evaluate own ongoing practiceÌý
- a substantial empirical research project, systematic review or systematic case study that was informed by wide current understandings of therapeutic practices, or;Ìý
- an in-depth research proposal for a substantial empirical research project or systematic review - have completed 160 hours of personal therapy or personal development work that has contributed to self-awareness and is applicable to therapeutic practice
- have an ongoing current contract for counselling or psychotherapy supervision for a minimum of 1.5 hours per month
- have been supervised for at least 1.5 hours per month throughout the period of practice submitted

You’ll be able to apply from February 2026. To do so, you’ll need to complete the application form, the reflective practice criteria and provide a supervisor’s statement.ÌýÌý

The application fee will be £120. There is financial support available for eligible members.Ìý
