Our registered member to accredited member route 1: streamlined route is for registered members who’ve completed a Âé¶¹Ô­´´ accredited core training course (aligned to column B of the SCoPEd framework) or a Âé¶¹Ô­´´ accredited or approved progression training course (aligned to column B of the SCoPEd framework) and who've met the training and supervised practice hours required for column B of the SCoPEd framework.Ìý

If you’re successful in your application you’ll be able to use the designatory letters 'Registered Member MÂé¶¹Ô­´´ (Accred)' and promote yourself as aligned to column B of the SCoPEd framework, alongside the other benefits of accreditation.

You’ll be required to demonstrate training, client hours, supervision and reflective practice. Your supervisor's will also need to provide you with a supervisor's statement.

Âé¶¹Ô­´´ accredited or approvedÌýprogression training coursesÌý(aligned to column B of theÌýSCoPEd framework) have not yet run, and the first graduates are expected in 2027 to 2028.Ìý

Eligibility criteria overview

To apply you’ll need to:ÌýÌý

  • be a registered member of Âé¶¹Ô­´´
  • be practising as a counsellor or psychotherapist. You must have been in practice for at least three years when you apply for accreditation
  • have completed a Âé¶¹Ô­´´ accredited core training course (aligned to SCoPEd column B) or a Âé¶¹Ô­´´ accredited or approved SCoPEd column B progression training course
  • have a minimum of 450 tutor contact hours – this can use a combination of awards, such as your core training plus progression training hours or your certificate training hours. All hours need to be from practitioner training courses, and we need to see a clear progression through the training you submit
  • have at least 450 hours of supervised practice accumulated within three to six years (they don’t have to be consecutive years)
    -
    of the 450 hours, at least 150 hours of supervised practice must be after the successful completion of your core practitioner training, which are calculated from the date on the award certificate
  • have an ongoing current contract for counselling and psychotherapy supervision for a minimum of 1.5 hours per month
    -
    have been supervised for at least 1.5 hours per month throughout the period of practice submittedÌý

All Âé¶¹Ô­´´ members need to read and agree to abide by our Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and our Professional Conduct Procedure on an annual basis. As an accredited member or senior accredited member, you'll also need to agree to the terms and conditions of the Âé¶¹Ô­´´ Register every year.Ìý
