These webpages outline the new accreditation routes that will be in place from February 2026 once the Scope of Practice and Education (SCoPEd) transition period ends (Friday 30 January 2026).ÌýÌý

The new accreditation routes will enable members to move membership categories where they have the skills, knowledge and training to do so. Ìý

They also recognise the wide variety of training pathways by which our members enter the profession and then continue to develop post-qualification. Ensuring accessibility and widening opportunities sit at the core of these routes, which are designed to enable more members to demonstrate their SCoPEd competence and continue their career progression.ÌýÌý

When the SCoPEd transition period ends our membership categories will be fully aligned to the columns of the SCoPEd framework. Our registered membership category will be aligned to column A, accredited membership, aligned to column B and senior accredited membership (for those who’ve applied for the revised membership category from February 2024) will be aligned to column C.Ìý

You can still apply for individual accreditation and senior accreditation now and during the SCoPEd transition period if you meet the eligibility criteria and feel ready to do so. Transition period applications will close on Friday 30 January 2026. If you choose to apply during the transition period, we’d encourage you to do so well ahead of the closing date. Visit our accreditation webpages to find out more.Ìý
